THALAPAKATU CHICKEN BIRIYANI....
Ingredients:
- Basmati Rice/Jeeraka Samba rice - 250gram(1.5cup)
- Chicken- 500grams
- Chopped Onion - 2 big size
- Tomatoes - 2 medium size
- Green Chilli- 5 nos
- Chopped Ginger - 2 tsp
- Garlic- 6piece
- Min Leaves(Pudhina)- 1 hand full
- Chilli Powder - 1tsp
- Coriander powder- 2tsp
- Small Onion - 6piece
- Cardamom (Ezaikaai)- 3tsp
- Cinamen sticks - 2 piece
- Cloves(Kraambu) - 3nos
- Biriyani masala- half tsp (Optional)
- Lemon juice-5tsp
For Seasoning:
- Oil- 3tsp
- Cooking butter or Ghee- 3tsp
- Brinji leaf - 3 piece
For Grinding :
- Add Cardamom, Cinamen sticks,Cloves together and grind it to fine powder.
- Add ginger, garlic and small onion in to the above powder and add little bit of water and grind it to make a paste.
- Grind mint leaves separately and make it as a paste.
Preparation Method :
- Place a heavy bottom Pan in the stove, add oil,cooking butter and brinji leaves in the above mentioned quantity.
- Put all the chopped onion in to it and saute well till onion turn golden brown color.
- Add tomatoes , chilli and pudina in to it and stirr well for 6-8mins
- Add grinded cardamom paste and pudina paste in to it and still well for another 5 mins.
- Add chilli, coriander powder in to it and then add chicken and mix it well.
- Add salt to required amount.
- Place a cooker in the stove and transfer this mix in to the cooker
- take half lemon and squeeze the juice in to it.
- Add 1.5 cups of rice & 3 cups of water and allow it to boil
- Now place the lid and wait for 2 whistles.
- Off the stove and wait till the pressure goes off.
- Open the lid and add the fried cashews in it and mix it gently,
- Here is the Thalapakattu Briyani ready.
- Serve it with Onion Raitha...
