Kampong chicken curry/ Naatukozhi kulambu

 It is very tasty & delicious recipe.... Actually my hubby just loved it.... it goes well with steamed rice...

 Ingredients for grinding:

Fennel seeds- 1tsp
Cinnamon stick- 1
Cloves- 2
Cumin seeds- 1tsp
Pepper- 1tsp
Dry red chili- 2
Dry coriander seeds- 2tsp
Onion- 1
Ginger- 1inch
Garlic- 3cloves
Curry leaves- 1spring
Grated coconut- 4tsp

Ingredients for curry:

Kampong chicken- 400gms
Sliced onion- 1(big)
Chopped tomatoes- 1
Curry leaves- 1spring
Turmeric powder- 1/4tsp
Salt -to taste
Coriander leaves- for garnishing

Method:

  • Wash & rinse the chicken pieces...keep it aside..
  • Roast the dry coriander seeds, cumin, pepper, fennel seeds, cloves, red chilies & cinamon stick.... roast it separately & transfer to blender.....and make into fine powder...
  • Then, roast onions & curry leaves till golden brown & transfer to blender... grind it with garlic, ginger, grated coconut into fine paste..
  • Heat 3tsp of oil in a pan, add mustard seeds...when it finish popping, add chopped onions & curry leaves...saute till golden brown....after that add chopped tomatoes...toss well....
  • Now add the ground paste & fine powder into it.....mix well...
  • Add cleaned chicken pieces into it & add water to form gravy, sprinkle some salt into it....cover & cook for 10mins... 
  • Once the chicken are well cooked...turn off the flame...
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves....
  • It goes well with hot rice...idly/dosai...
