Kulfi is basically a frozen Indian dessert... It can be served in the hot summer or after meal.... I still remember the kulfi seller carrying a big Ice box with variety of kulfis inside it & selling kulfi door to door... Me & my sister is eagerly waiting for him with a couple of coins in hand... In the months of April & May, we would always ask him to stop near our house & serve us daily...haha :)
Nowadays I couldn't find such kind of vender selling kulfis, really iam missing those days... Now kulfi is available at many restarunts in many different flavours... I just tried KULFI & other Ice cream recipes couple of times at home, it came out well... It is easy to prepare & doesn't take lot of time... try this!!!!
Preparation time- 5mins Cooking time- 15mins Freezing time- 4-5 hrs
INGREDIENTS:
Milk- 1/2 litreRice flour- 1 & 1/2 tsp
Khoya- 1/4 cup
Sugar- 1/4 cup
Nuts- 7 tsp(pist, almond & cashews)
Saffron- pinch
METHOD:
- In a pan, heat milk on a low flame & reduce to thicken...
- Dissolve the rice flour in 3tsp of milk, saffron & khoya to the milk....(stir well to avoid lumps)
- When it gets started thickening, add sugar to it & keep stirring...
- Now add the crushed nuts into the milk...
- After 4 or 5mins, when the milk has thickened, switch off the flame....
- Allowed the kulfi mixture to cool down & pour into kulfi moulds / short glasses...
- Now cover it with lids & refrigerate for about 4-5 hours....
- Once it well freezed, take the kulfi moulds & keep it in bowl of water, to remove the kulfi from mould....
- Delicious kulfi is ready... Serve immediately....
NOTE- You can add instead of condensed milk instead of khoya.....
