Chettinadu Crab Masala - Spicy traditional south indian dish

Ingredients:

Crab    -3/4 Kg
Onion   - 3 big size
tomato  - 2 medium size
Ginger garlic paste- 2tsp
Chilli powder -1tsp
Coriander powder- 2tsp
Turmeric powder -1/4tsp
pepper Sauce- 1 1/2 tsp
Curry leves
Salt

For Grinding:

Cinnamon sticks- 1big
Sombu - 1tsp

Method:
  • Wash and clean the crab
  • Take a heavy bottomed pan and pour 4tsp of oil. Add chopped onions and curry leaves in to it, saute till get golden brown color.
  • Now add chopped tomatoes , chilli coriander and turmeric powder.
  • After 5mins add the above grinded mixture and ginger garlic paste. Stir well until the raw smell of masala goes off.
  • Add pepper sauce to the above mixture and mix it well.
  • After 2mins, add the crabs in to it and add salt to taste.
  • Close the pan and cook for about 12-15mins and then keep stir for some time until get the thick spicy gravy.
  • Now mouth watering " Chettinadu Crab Masala" is ready for serving.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and lettuce.
