Kozhi Thodai varuval...(Spicy chicken)

Actually i got this recipe from one TV show...its tempting recipe... Then i planned to cook at my kitchen, really it came out well... Grilled chicken tossed with the onion capsicum masala... it is very spicy, juicy & tasty chicken...It goes well with biriyani, ghee rice & sambar... Perfect side dish for rice.... I think you too try this & enjoy the taste of it....



Ingredients for Marination:

Chicken thigh-2 pieces
Lime juice- 3tsp
Curd- 5tsp
Chili powder- 1tsp
Cumin powder-1tsp
Turmeric powder- 1/4tsp
Salt- to taste
Ginger-garlic paste- 1/2tsp
Maida- 1tsp
Corn flour- 1tsp
Rice flour- 1tsp
pepper- 1tsp

Ingredients for Varuval(fry):

Oil- 3tsp
Onion- 2
Capsicum-1/2
Tomato-1
Green chili-1
Curry leaves- 1spring
Chili powder- 2tsp
Coriander powder- 1tsp
Turmeric powder- 1/2tsp
Salt- to taste

METHOD:

  • First mix all the ingredients mentioned under marination.... Marinate the chicken for about 2hrs...
    MARINATE THE CHICKEN
  • After that, Heat 6tsp of oil in a heavy bottomed pan & grill the chicken piecs on a low flame...
  • Turn the chicken pieces to cook on all the sides..... 
  • Once its fully grilled, take out from the pan & keep i aside...( can deep fry the chicken)
  • Now heat 3tsp of oil in a pan & fry onion,curry leaves & chili till it becomes light brown..
  • Add chili,coriander & turmeric powder into it & mix well....
  • Add the finely chopped tomatoes &...saute for 2mins...
  • Add chopped capsicum & cook for 5mins...(Do not add water)
  • Sprinkle some salt...mix well....
  • Finally add the grilled chicken & mix well.... cook for 2mins.... then turn off the stove..
  • Spicy CHICKEN THODAI VARUVAL ready to eat....
