Pepper Mutton Gravy..

Pepper mutton gravy is spicy & tasty recipe.... I got this recipe from my Mother-in-law.....Its perfect curry for  Idly/dosa...

Ingredients:

Mutton-500gms
Onion-1(large)
Tomatoes-2
Green chili-1(optional)
Curry leaves- 1spring
Ginger-garlic paste- 1tsp
Black pepper powder-2tsp(freshly & coursely ground)
Red chili powder- 1tsp
Corriander powder-1tsp
Turmeric powder- 1/2tsp
Bay leaf-1
Cinnamon stick- 1inch
Fennel seeds- 1tsp
Salt- to taste

Method:

  • Clean & wash the mutton & keep it aside... 
  • Heat oil in a cooker & add ginger-garlic paste..saute for 1min...then add the washed mutton pieces, turmeric powder & pinch of salt....
  • Mix well & add sufficient amount of water....pressure cook for 4-5 whistles...
  • Meanwhile, heat the fryimg pan...add 3tsps of oil, add fennel seeds, bay leaf, cinnamon stick, curry leaves & chili.....saute for 2mins...
  • Add the chopped onions, saute till it becomes translucent....
  • Now add tomatoes...saute for 2mins..
  • Add red chili & coriander powder into it....
  • Add ground pepper & mix well...
  • Then add the cooked mutton with water....boil for 10 mins....

  • If the gravy is watery, stir well at low flame until gets thick consistency....
  • Spicy pepper mutton is ready to serve with hot rice or Idly/Dosa....
