Multi-grain ADAI....

Adai is usually prepared for breakfast...it is rich in protein & iron... 

Ingredients for Batter:

Raw rice-1/2cup
Parboiled rice-1/2cup
Thoor  dhal-1/4cup
urad dhal-1/4cup
channa dhal-1/4cup
Moong dhal-1/4cup
Ginger- 1inch
Red chilies-6
Salt -to taste.. 

Ingredients to add into Batter:

Chopped onoins-3
Chopped curry leaves-1spring
Chopped coriander leaves
Drumstick leaves- 2hand full (optional)
Asafoetida- pinch..

Method:

  • Soak rice & dhal together for about 3 hrs...
  • First grind red chilies, ginger & salt into fine paste..
  • Grind the rice & dal coarsely & mix the paste into it..batter should not be thick..medium consistency...
  • Now add asafoetida, finely chopped onions, curry 7 corriander leaves..drumstick leaves to the batter... allow to fermentation for about 2 to 3 hrs...
  • Heat the pan & spread it like big circle(like dosa)... flip it over to another side & add 2tsp of oil..
  • Hot spicy adai is ready to serve with coconut chutney or avial or jaggery..
