It is most popular sweet in south-India....delicious & easy to prepare in 15mins...
Ingredients:
Rava/ sooji- 1/2 cup
Sugar- 1/2cup
Water- 1cup
Ghee- 6tsp
Food color- pinch
Cardamon powder- pinch
Cashew nuts- 8
Method:
- Take a non-stick pan & add rava with 1tsp of ghee...roast well...transfer to plate & keep it aside..
- Add 1 cup of water, pinch of cardamon powder & food color into it...bring to boil....
- Add fried rava little by little & keep stirring.....(in low flame) cook for 4mins...
- Add sugar & mix well...
- (NOTE- U may find few lumps are formed, mash those lumps)
- Stir in low medium flame & add fried cashews, raisins & 4tsp of ghee & mix well....
- Grease a plate with ghee & spread the kesari in it, allow to cool & cut into diamond shapes with a knife....
- Yummy kesari is ready to serve......
