Parupu keerai/ keerai masiyal...

Ingredients:

Green leaves(keerai)- 1 bunch
Moongdal/Thor dhal-1/2 cup
Chopped onions-1(big)
Chopped tomatoes-1(big)
Green chili-4
Turmeric powder-1/4tsp
Salt -to taste 
Coconut oil-2tsp

For seasoning:

 Oil-2tsp
Mustard seeds- 1tsp
Jeera- 1tsp

Method:

  • Boil the thor dhal/ moongdal & keep it aside... 
  • Remove the roots & wash the green leaves thoroughly & finely chop it..
  • Heat the oil in heavy bottomed pan & add mustard seeds, jeera,onions,curry leaves,chili & tomatoes.... saute for 3mins..
  • Then add chopped keerai, turmeric powder & salt....cook the keerai in low flame & don't close the lid..
  • No need to add more water...just sprinkle some water....
  • When the keerai is cooked, add boiled dhal & mashed it nicely....
  • Finally add 2tsp of coconut oil...its smells good...
  • Serve it with hot rice/ chapathi....
